This isn't a expansion ROM, this is an EEPROM for storing the configuration
data and some extra things like MAC-Address. If you have a socket for a
bootrom, then this is mapped to the expansion rom...
I've once written a program to change the mac-adress of 3c509-series cards
from 3com :-)
